All those cracks made him crazy, skin wass almost roasted but Frank couldn’t help stopping running – some invisible force pushed him farther and farther. Suddenly he noticed some black long square… It’s a door! And he is able to smash in it! A couple of chops and injured and coughing but extremely satisfied Frank came into an adjoining room. “Who have known that I can do such things?!” – thought fireman drying his watery eyes… Such useful feature as ability to run through a fire can become blessing as well as curse at different moments of game. For example, when situation is emergency it is rather reasonable to let one of firemen adventure his life for the benefit of a principal target of mission.
Vice versa when you don’t need to hurry up and your hero runs through the fire it irritates to some extent. But in general, characters please gamer with their energy and efficiency. If there something burns nearby they do not wait for an order and begin to fight against it. Sometimes they even may provide help to a wounded man – but this happens not always. Sometimes Frank and his guys behave like they slipped into a coma.
To slock or not to slock?
And if to slock – what, where, when and in what subsequence? You will think over these questions all the game long. To fulfill your task successfully you must analyze and evaluate situation quickly and correctly. Take an example: in the first mission you have two main aims – to rescue people and to moderate class “B” fire avoiding explosion of “Mriya” airplane. Of course, you can moderate it but hardly you will be able to slock it completely. So you will have to divide your squad into two groups and carry out both tasks simultaneously looking for other flame formations.
Extremely energetic game play captivates very much. Fire destroys everything – cars, helicopters, trees and even steel. Crack of fire, rumble of explosions, orders of leadership. And wonderful soundtrack which is very appropriate here. Unfortunately impression from the game is spoiled very much with extremely inconvenient camera. It is very hard to control it – especially when you just start playing. …Frank rounded a burning table. “Not to be entrapped here”, - he thought. He broke window and took a deep breath enjoying fresh air.
Frank stepped towards freedom and suddenly turned short. He has not noticed a small sofa standing near the window. And he was entrapped here… Fire was nearer and nearer… It was the end. “Damned bugs!” – he said and swore once again. He was right. There are a lot of bugs and you have nothing to do with that. Bugs may spoil even the best game. Apart from the problem Frank suffered from, we will have our camera “entrapped” here. Besides, a mission may be defined as failed in spite of successful fulfillment of all the assignments. When will they stop providing us underdone products that do not run properly without patches? But in general the game is quite good. OK, that is all – I finish this survey and reload mission to avoid poor Frank’s death.
Advantages:
- entertaining game play;
- reality;
- excellent graphic;
- interesting plot.
Disadvantages:
- inconvenient camera;
- outrageous amount of bugs.
Fire Department 3 is a wonderful fire brigade simulator. That is to say it could become a wonderful fire brigade simulator if its developers did not do their job in a slipshod manner. Some missions are so outrageously overflown with bugs that you even do not want to start play again it after that. If the game did not contain all those bugs mark would be higher.
